Ramlila in Delhi

Shree Keshav Ramlila Committee, also popularly known as Netaji Subhash Palace Pitampura Delhi is a huge ground located in the outer of the city of Delhi. Situated inside the walled city, the Pitampura is fortified on all sides, has two large gates and is very well-maintained. The Pitampura even has a pond in the middle. The Pitampura are popular because every year during Dusshera, the demon king Ravana's effigy is burned here and Ramlila is performed everyday during this period. The ground is also used for other religious gatherings and major political meetings, rallies and other events.

The Netaji Subhash Palace Pitampura Delhi has been a venue for many important events such as it was the place where Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru held a public meeting in 1961 to welcome Queen Elizabeth. Many other meetings and gatherings have been held here which include post war gatherings, rallies against government policies etc.
